China may buy state tools, wine
The Alabama Development Office on Monday will welcome a delegation from China that is interested in importing state products, including machine tools, medical devices and wine.
The delegation from Beijing will be headed by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, or CCPIT, which hosted a recent Alabama trade mission in China. The group also is interested in making investments in the state.
CCPIT will participate in a seminar Monday at Troy University's Rosa Parks Auditorium in Montgomery, speaking on China's overall trade and economic development. A visiting company executive will give his perspective on U.S.-China trade and its benefits for companies.
Gov. Bob Riley and a 60-person state delegation of business representatives, academic leaders and tourism officials spent last week in China promoting Alabama exports and other partnerships.
