All wines provided by WELTACHS Weinkellerei GmbH are grown in the second largest wine growing region, the PFALZ.
The PFALZ with its 23.357 hectares of vineyards is bordered by Rheinhessen to the north and France to the south and west. For nearly 80 km a thick ribbon of vineyards runs between the foothills of the forested “Haardt” mountains and the river Rhine. This site provides the perfect climate to grow grapes. The soil consists of loam, weathered limestone.
The PFALZ is located one hour south of Frankfurt, close to the cities of Mannheim, Kaiserslautern or Heidelberg. WELTACHS is located in the northern part of the PFALZ.
It was believed that WELTACHS eiswein fits to pair many kinds of Chinese food and will be more and more popular in China.
At present, WELTACHS eiswein is the biggest exporter to China in volume among German wines.
