America’s Top Wine Auction House to hold its Second Auction in Hong Kong in November
Another one for the Record Books with wines expected to exceed the inaugural sale of HK$64 million (US$8.2 million)

Hong Kong – Following the incredible record-breaking inaugural auction in May, Acker Merrall & Condit is thrilled to announce its second wine auction in Hong Kong on 15 November 2008, again at the prestigious Island Shangri-La Hotel.  The value of the sale should rival and may even exceed Acker's initial, record-breaking sale of US$8.2 million (HK$64 million) which was the largest wine auction ever staged in Asia.  Acker Merrall & Condit is America’s most established wine merchant and biggest wine auctioneer with a record total of more than US$60 million in 2007, and over US$35 million already auctioned in 2008.

John Kapon, Acker Merrall & Condit's President and Auction Director

Much like the first auction in May, Acker has again selected only the very finest wines from the best Châteaux, Domaines and vintages. There will be a tremendous selection of Château Petrus, Domaine de la Romanée-Conti in multiple formats and again large quantities of Bordeaux First Growths from only the very best private cellars in the world.

Acker Merrall & Condit has established a firm customer and fan base in Hong Kong and with the first auction having achieved such incredible success, the time is right for a second auction at this amazing level of quality.
John Kapon, Acker Merrall & Condit’s President and Auction Director, said: “I loved our first auction in Hong Kong and that will always be very special to me, but I promised the loyal customers and the public to come back and show that we were not just a one-time wonder.”
“This will again be part of Acker’s future, to firmly establish itself as the premier Wine Auction house in Asia and for astute collectors to acquire an exceptional array of wines of the highest quality and rarity.”

Acker Merrall & Condit held first sale in Hong Kong on 31 May

Also noteworthy, Acker Merrall & Condit will bring its inimitable style of wine auctioneering back to the Island Shangri-La, which was enjoyed by more than 330 attendees in May and was part of the basis for setting multiple World Records. Surely, there will also be a couple of surprises planned, like in May when the entire audience was invited to indulge in the sumptuous Dom Pérignon 1995 Oenothèque.
