Imported Wine Price in Guangdong up 60%

China Customs figures show that the average imported wine price in Guangdong province has increased 60%.

Statistics show that China wine improts reached 150 thousand tons last year, with 20 percent of those imports coming from Guangdong province. In the first four months of this year, Guangdong wine imports have been on the rise, sales lifted by 31% year on year, to 6.06 million liters.

From January to April, Guangdong wine imports rose 109% in value terms from the same period in 2007, to 37.01 million dollars. The average price for each litre of wine imported was up 59.6% to 6.1 dollar, which means imported wine price increasing sharply.
