Building the Brand of "Yantai Wines"

Yantai Food Industry Association "Wine Convivium Annual Forum 2008" was held in Yantai Changyu Wine Museum on July 23th.

Zhao Yong-Fu, the vice leader of Wine Convivium, said that Yantai wine industry has made great progress since the establishment of Wine Convivium in September, 2007.

Statistic figures show that there are more than 140 wineries in Yantai, including 29 state owned enterprises and 101 wineries with QS certification. Yantai has formed "wine enterprises alliance", represented by Chang Yu Pioneer Wine Co., COFCO and Yantai Weilong Grape Wine Co. Wine production in Yantai has reached 1.935 million hectoliter, whcih accounts for 75.7% of total wine production in Shandong province and 29.1% in China.

Zhao added that the top priority task is to build the brand of "Yantai Wines", and register "geographic indication" for Yantai Wines.
