Constellation downsizes its Australian wine brands
Wine giant Constellation Europe (CE) is moving into smaller pack sizes for its Hardys Australian wine brand. Half-bottle sizes are being introduced for Hardys Nottage Hill, while a combined 250ml PET bottle and wine glass is being launched for Hardys Stamp.
CE said consumer research showed consumers wanted to treat themselves to a “good quality” glass of wine at home but without having to open a full bottle.
It claimed the new Hardys Nottage Hill 375ml half-bottles “got over this barrier to purchase by providing the right style wine in the right format”.
The half-bottle range comprises a Chardonnay and a Cabernet Sauvignon/Shiraz, with a recommended retail price of £3.99.
The 250ml bottle with a PET wine glass forming the screwcap, which is being marketed as Hardys Shuttles, is said to be new to the UK, with CE having exclusivity on the format for two years.
Hardys Shuttles, comprising Hardys Stamp Shiraz/Cabernet Sauvignon and Semillon/Chardonnay, are said to “provide the ultimate in convenience for consumers for all outdoor events and single-serve occasions”.
