Inside the 1,000-square-foot space, shelves are fitted with machines that dispense 2-ounce pours of 96 wines, for $3 to $10 each. To go with your sips, there are plates of charcuterie and cheeses ($6 to $20).
Clo was founded by Andrew Bradbury, who was the wine director of Aureole in Las Vegas. His partners are Scott Brenner and Brian Smith, who were sommeliers there, and Keith Goldston and Darius Allyn, who are master sommeliers. The group plans to open a wine shop on the same floor in the fall.
Clo will also sell accessories like glassware and decanters, including Ichendorf’s Provence stemware with slanted rims, which make tasting easier ($40 to $65 each): Time Warner Center, Columbus Circle, (212) 823-9898.
