Wine label contest
The Animal Rescue League of New Hampshire in Bedford is looking for a series of three to five art pieces to be used on the league’s brand wine labels, which will be sold in local wine shops and area markets. The work must be original, must never have been used for any other purposes and, if chosen, the rights to the artwork would become the sole property of the league to be used for the purpose of this ongoing fundraiser.
Submit a minimum of two examples to the league in a high-resolution JPG. JPGs may be e-mailed to Robin Ahlgren at robin@rescueleague.org. Artwork must be two-dimensional, can be completed in any medium and the content of the work must reflect the values of the league. Suggestions on content include, but are not limited to, depiction of the power of the human/animal bond; companion animals in general, particularly dog, cats, rabbits and other small animals; animal sheltering; and human/animal devotion. Details or segments of a piece of artwork can be chosen for final label consideration, as well. Do not include any text in or across the artwork. The final label will be about 4 inches wide by 5 inches tall.
Work must be submitted no later than Sept. 1. Work will be reviewed and selected by the wine label committee by Sept. 8. Include artist’s name, contact information and a one-paragraph biography. Including a photo of the artist is optional.
There is no fee to enter, and the artist may submit as many JPGs as she or he would like. The selected pieces and the artist’s name, biography and photo will be profiled on the league’s Web site by Sept. 12.
The winning artist will be featured in a press release issued by the League and will be included in the league’s newsletter. The winning artist may also include images of the final label in his or her portfolio; however, the image may not be subsequently reproduced without the league’s permission.
