As September rolls around, those enjoyable cool, fall days remind us that winter is right around the corner. But in the Land Down Under, the heat and fun starts to turn up as their summer season is rapidly approaching. That energy will travel half-way around the world to Schuler's Restaurant in Marshall where guests will be greeted with a hearty “G'Day” throughout September to celebrate “Aussie Month.”

Every bloke, cobber and Sheila is invited to the kick-off event, a wine tasting that will be held Thursday, August 28 inside the restaurant. The tasting begins at 6:00pm and will feature a variety of Australian wines appropriately paired with favorite appetizers recommended by our friends Down Under.

The guest speaker for the wine tasting event will be Rebecca Loewy, National Australian Wine Specialist and Educator from Old Bridge Cellars. Loewy, who is half-Aussie and a total wine enthusiast, will yabber with wine tasters, sharing her knowledge of Australian culture, cuisine and wines. You can learn more about Old Bridge Cellars by visiting their website

Tickets are $20 per person for Tasters Guild members and $25 per person for non-members. Tickets may be purchased the day of the event or in advance by calling 269-781-0600. Following the wine tasting, enjoy steak and shrimp on the “Barbie” prepared by Schuler's Executive Chef on their newly expanded patio. As the Aussie's might say “let's bog in!” which translates to “attack the food with enthusiasm!”

Schuler's Restaurant and Pub, a Michigan dining tradition for 99 years, is located at 115 South Eagle Street in historic Marshall, Michigan, and is open every day except Christmas.
