Wine Festival to Feature Record Number of Vendors
The 20th Smith Mountain Lake Wine Festival, scheduled for Sept. 27-28, will offer a venue for 95 food and craft vendors, and 27 wineries to showcase their offerings, the most ever.
The popular event, first held in 1988 at Taylor's Store, a former bed-and-breakfast, is moving from Bernard's Landing to LakeWatch Spa & Resort on Virginia 122, about a mile south of Hales Ford Bridge.
In addition to vendors and wineries, four bands will entertain festival-goers.
For the second year in a row, the Smith Mountain Lake Chamber of Commerce is offering tickets via PayPal on its Web site (www.VisitSmithMountainLake.com). Tickets also are available at a number of retail locations.
