Veteran Wine Industry Executive to Lead Fine Wine Division
Frederick Wildman and Sons, Ltd., announced today the appointment of Martin Sinkoff to the position of Director of Marketing for the newly created Fine Wine Division.
In his new role, Sinkoff will report directly to Richard Cacciato, CEO and President of Wildman and will be responsible for determining the company's overall fine wine strategy and marketing activities. He will also supervise a team of brand managers encompassing Wildman's Fine Wine portfolio, to include: the Estate wines from Italy; the company's French brands; Wildman's expansive Burgundy group, as well as boutique brands from Spain, Chile, South Africa, Germany, and Portugal.
"We are truly thrilled to include in our team someone with Martin's experience and motivation," says Cacciato, President of Frederick Wildman and Sons, Ltd. "His extensive wine knowledge and understanding of results-driven marketing adds tremendous value to our company as we continue to build our renowned wine brands."
Sinkoff brings with him nearly three decades of wine experience. As early as the late 70s, Martin was assistant to Alexis Lichine in buying, consulting as well as in the writing, editing and translating of the famed Encyclopedia of Wines and Spirits. Once he moved to Dallas, he was hired to create the wine department for Glazer's Wholesale Distributors. Most recently, Sinkoff was a marketing consultant for Pasternak Wine Imports in Harrison, NY, a role he accepted when he sold the company he built in Texas (Martin Sinkoff Wines), to Pasternak. Prior to that, Sinkoff was President of Val d'Orbieu Wines, marketer of Reserve St. Martin wines--a brand Sinkoff built from scratch to 170,000 cases.
Sinkoff received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Brown University and an M.B.A. from the Cox School of Business at the Southern Methodist University in Dallas. In 2004, he was awarded France's highest honor for service in wine: the Ordre National du MA(C)rite Agricole.
