Unqualified Imported Wines Detected in Jiuzhou Port
To make sure the safety of import and export wine and maintain the benefit of consumers, Zhuhai Inspection and Quarantine Bureau strengthens the inspection work of the port.
From January to June in 2008, 29 batches of wine were imported from Jiuzhou Port, with the total weight about 278 tons, valued 700 thousand dollars. All of the imported wines are from Portugal, France, Chile, Australia, and so on.
A batch of dry wine did not qualify for national food hygienic standards because of the excessive lead content . All the goods had already been destroyed.
During the tag examination processed by Jiuzhou Office, 17 batches of wine did not conform relevant requirements, of which the chinese tags of 15 batches of wine did not meet China’s tag rules, another 2 batches of wine had the wrong indication of sugar content.
