Winery begins 'Capsules for Hope'
Sutter Home Family Vineyards is inviting consumers to send in the tops of Sutter Home wine capsules for its annual ‘Capsules for Hope’ program. In return, Sutter Home will donate $1 toward breast cancer research, treatment and education.
The winery also is unveiling new specialty labels on select Sutter Home blush wines. The pink ribbon is displayed on all white zinfandel and white merlot varieties.
Sutter Home Winery’s commitment to fight cancer began when winery owner Vera Trinchero Torres was diagnosed with breast cancer. She is now an eight-year survivor, but many Sutter Home employees, distributors and customers have also been touched by this deadly disease.
Pioneered by the Trinchero family eight years ago, Sutter Home for Hope raised close to $1 million in donations for breast cancer organizations and materials to raise awareness.
