Beer and wine sales approved for Broad Street newcomers
Two businesses preparing to open on Broad Street locked in their alcohol sales licenses tonight.
The Rome Alcohol Control Commission approved beer and wine pouring licenses for Studio 712 Jazz Bar and Lounge, 211C Broad St., and beer and wine package and pouring licenses for Rome City Market, 238 Broad St.
Representatives from both venues said they expect to open in December.
The ACC also approved penalties for restaurant servers who sell alcohol to minors.
Violations currently result in a license suspension for the business and a fine for the server. The new ordinance — which now moves to the Rome City Commission for action — adds mandatory license suspensions for the servers as well.
