Robbins voters narrowly approved the sale of wine and nixed the sale of beer and mixed beverages, according to official totals released today.
In the Sept. 16 election, voters passed wine sales 116 to 114, according to the Moore County Board of Elections. Beer sales were defeated by four votes with 113 people voting for the measure and 117 against. Three votes would have tied up the mixed drinks referendum. It was defeated with 114 people voting for and 117 people voting against.
The official totals varied slightly from the votes that were tabulated on election night, but the results remained the same.
Alcohol proponents and opponents anxiously awaited the official results today. Five provisional ballots could have changed the results. The board included three of those ballots in its total.
