Food, Wine And Milton On October 10, 2008
Just as thine must have food, and thine must have wine, thine must have Milton. New York singer/songwriter Milton will perform songs from his new CD 'Grand Hotel' at the New York Wine and Food Festival's 'Midnight Music and Munchies' party at the Highline Ballroom this Friday, October 10th.
Joining Milton for a special treat will be a rare, musical appearance by the 'Top Chef,' Tom Collichio, who will take the stage for some classic numbers.
At 'Midnight Music and Munchies,' hosted by DailyCandy, music and food lovers will get their fill of both. Top chefs will create late night treats with unusual twists and daring combinations. To wash it down, New York's most sought-after bartenders will create custom cocktails that reflect the evening's rock-out mood-and many will be on hand to shake them up. Ken Friedman, music industry legend and co-owner of NY's wildly popular gastropub, The Spotted Pig, will create the playlist that keeps the party going into the wee hours.
Milton, the NYC singer-songwriter, releases 'Grand Hotel' this fall. Recorded in Minneapolis with producer Bo Ramsey (Lucinda Williams, Iris Dement, Greg Brown) and engineer Tom Tucker (Prince, Mavis Staples), 'Grand Hotel' highlights singer Milton's indelible songwriting and scratchy b-side vocals, a sonic combination the New York Daily News describes as 'paradise found.' Earning comparisons to many of his heroes-Van Morrison, Warren Zevon, Nick Lowe, The Band-Milton has distinguished himself with his unique voice and lyrics, a compelling mix of grit and grammar. Milton and his band are known for their energetic live shows, featuring the songs that crowds have come to know and sing along to in sold-out performances.
