The Gruene Misic & Wine Fest will be held this weekend in Gruene

Wine and food sampling, guitar auction, live music and more! The Gruene Misic & Wine Fest will be held this weekend in Gruene (halfway between here and Austin). Whether you are new to the area or have lived her for a while, you are sure to enjoy this event and this town. They "have been gently resisting change since 1872" and you will see why.

This Americana event benefiting local charities will be featuring the best in live Texas music and the best in Texas food and wines at Gruene Hall and The Grapevine. All three days will be filled music, wine, food and the Great Guitar Auction.

Friday: Music with the Flatlanders, catered dinner by the Gristmill River Restaurant & Bar, silent auction, wine tastings by three Texas wineries, and the Great Guitar Auction where signed guitars by some of Texas' greatest artists will be auctioned to the highest bidder. Limited seating by advanced ticket. Admission includes The Flatlanders concert later that evening after 9 pm.

Saturday: Noon to 6pm on The Grapevine Grounds. Come spend a relaxing Saturday afternoon. Enjoy tastings with more than forty Texas vintners, craft vendors and food producers and enjoy tunes with The Sarah Pierce Band from noon to 3pm and Ponty Bone & The Squeezetones from 3:15 to 6 pm at the Wine Tent.

The Grapevine, located in Historic Gruene, features the largest selection of Texas wines in the state for daily tasting. Texas Vintners including Chisholm Trail Winery, D'Vine Wines (Austin), Fawncrest Vineyard, Grape Creek Vineyard, Haak Winery, Llano Estacado Winery, Lost Creek Vineyards, McPherson Cellars, Pleasant Hill Winery, Purple Possum Winery, Texas Hills Vineyard, Val Verde Winery , Al's Gourmet Nuts, Howard's Yummies, Messina Olive Tree, and The Grapevine will have sample tastings and products for sale. Authentic Texas tunes by featured artists will accompany the tastings.

Admission price includes a Gruene Music & Wine Fest souvenir wine glass and five wine taste tickets. Additional taste tickets will be available for purchase at the event. Of course, products sampled will be available for purchase. Wine is available for purchase by the glass, bottle, and case as well as select beer and sodas. In addition, don't miss The Grape Stomp, benefiting the New Braunfels Main Street Partners. Get purple feet when you stomp the grapes, and then make a souvenir t-shirt -- fun for the entire family!

Anytime during the weekend, visit The Grapevine wine store, located in Gruene Historic District, featuring the largest selections of Texas wine in the state for daily tastings.

Sunday: Texas Style Music Fest! Enjoy a jam-packed day full of fun, food, music, wine, beer and football! Start the day at Gruene Hall with the one and only cowboy Gospel Brunch. Hang around Gruene for great Texas tunes at Gruene Hall and The Grapevine Grounds and check out the NEW Cowboy Lounge on The Grapevine Grounds, featuring the new Specialty Beer Tasting Event with the Cowboys game on big screen TV's!

Gospel Brunch with a Texas Twist in Gruene Hall (10:30am to noon). In the tradition of a New Orleans-style gospel brunch, Gruene is serving up awesome and inspiring gospel music along with a delicious buffet catered by the Gristmill River Restaurant & Bar. 

Specialty Beer Tasting Event on The Grapevine Grounds (1 to 7pm ). In addition to some great Texas tunes, this event will feature a NEW Cowboy Lounge with specialty beer tastings and the Cowboy's game on two TV's. Three tasting tickets included with admission. Festival food and Texas wines will also be available for purchase.
