The sixth annual “On the Tracks” event offers a night in downtown Opelika filled with food, wine and live entertainment.

The event features a wine-tasting trail with stops at 14 downtown businesses. Participants will be able to try various wines. Food will also be available at each stop.

“On the Tracks” will be held from 6 p.m. to midnight Friday. Admission is free. Participating in the Wine Trail, however, costs $25 per adult. A limited number tickets will be sold. Corporate tables for up to 10 people can be purchased for $300 each, which includes Wine Trail tickets.

Tickets can be purchased online at http://www.onthetracks.org or on the night of the event, if available.

Wine Trail participants will be: Envy Salon, L&M Interiors, Southern Crossing, Koelsted Upholstery, The Gallery, Brass Brassiere, Fringe, Jackie’s Cards and Gifts, Mint Julep, Jackson Law Group, Red Door June, Taylor Made Design, FlipFlopFoto, Canine American, and Heritage Gifts and Gourmet.

In addition to the Wine Trail, the downtown area of 8th Street and Railroad Avenue will be lined with tents filled with area restaurants — Amsterdam, Queenie’s Cookies, Gourmet Tiger, Ariccia, Cafe 123 and Jimmy’s — selling a sampling of their menu items.

Live entertainment will be provided by the roots-rock group Connor Christian and Southern Gothic.

Last year, more than 1,000 people attended “On the Tracks,” according to event spokesperson Pam Powers-Smith with FlipFlopFoto. All proceeds from the event will go to the nonprofit organization Opelika Main Street.

This year’s “On the Tracks” is sponsored by Auburn-Opelika Tourism, Opelika Chamber of Commerce, Adams Beverages and Premium Beverages.
