Red wine grape harvest underway in Green Bluff

SPOKANE -- The first ever commercial red wine grape harvest is underway in Green Bluff.

Davide and Stephanie Trezzi have poured their hearts and souls into their vineyard for the last three years to see a dream come true, having a Spokane area vineyard that produces grapes for wine made right here in Spokane.

The Trezzis say growing grapes is a hard, everyday job that will hopefully have a sweet ending.

"It's a unique day for Spokane mainly because the first grapes in Spokane area, the first Spokane wine," Davide Trezzi said,

"I don't know if we'd known how much work it'd be we would have done it but I'm really glad we did," Stephanie Trezzi added.

The first bottle of the Trezzi wine should be ready to drink in two years.
