Indulge on fine wines and cheese

It has been a busy weekend, what with catering to the husband, kids and household chores, but a girl can get through anything if her hair looks good and she has a glass of wine in her hand. Here are this week's guiltless (because you deserve it) splurges:

$5 glass of wine

Treat yourself to an excellent glass of wine for just $5 at a little neighborhood bistro and wine bar in downtown Scottsdale called Fine's Cellar, "where wine is food."
From 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday, you can choose from 20 reds, whites, rosés and sparkling wines each priced at $5 a glass and chosen by wine expert Michael Fine.

Put together your own cheese plate, choosing from 30 different types. Or order something off the menu like a small wheel of brie topped with apple chutney for two people for $15 or the "Bella Italy" with asiago fresco, Gorgonzola, prosciutto di Parma and olives for four for $34.

With wine and cheese this delicious, you'll have nothing to whine about.

Mousse or wax?

The favorite new product at 2 Doors Down Hair Salon in Tempe is Goldwell's Profiler, which is a mousse and a wax.

Because it's a mousse, it's easy to distribute through the hair and gives volume, says Tracy Kiser, salon owner. As a wax, it provides texture for carefully placed chunks of hair and supermodel bangs.

It's like getting two products for one price ($18).
