76 Californian vintners hold wine tasting in Beijing on Oct10. It is one of successive Californian wine promotion activities in China. It is the first time that Californian wines act in such big scale. The principal of Wine Institute said that Chinese market’ great potential attracted many foreign vintners.
Statistics from Wine Institute showed that California sold 457 million gallons of wines last year, up 2% over 2006. The great demand of high-end wines and the rise of retail price made total revenue increase by 6% to 18.9 billion U.S. dollars last year. 95% of the total exported wines in the US came from California.
