Cincinnati, OH - The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is pleased to announce that the 5th annual Taste of the World Wine & Beer Festival, presented by The Party Source and held at The Newport Aquarium is set for Saturday, November 8, 2008.

The committee, led by chair Roseann Hayes, is busy planning and preparing a night of “fish and sips” for LLS supporters and local “foodies” to enjoy once again this year. Roseann is a lymphoma survivor who has made this event her personal attack on the blood cancers that affect her life and the lives of over 894,000 Americans.

The Taste of the World Wine & Beer Festival is presented each year by The Party Source, who solicit their many beverage distributors to bring their best wines, beers, and a variety of spirits for guests to taste. Local restaurants, such as Pompilio’s, Nicholson’s, Palomino, 20 Brix, Behle Street Café, Frieda’s Bakery, P.F. Chang’s China Bistro, and many more satisfied guests with samplings of their most popular dishes.

Not only will guests enjoy the fabulous food and drink, they are also offered the chance to walk away a winner. Raffle prizes are showcased in the aquariums chic “Jelly Fish Lounge” and are sure to please every taste. Last year, a custom-fitted bike, a sunset cruise on a private yacht, jewelry, restaurant gift certificates, golf packages, and many more luxurious items were raffled off. And don’t forget the Grand Prize, a European culinary adventure for two, with your choice between jetting off to France or Italy.

Around 700 people mingled about the aquarium last year, tasting the many offerings of food and beverage. Campaign Manager Christina McCarthy was pleased with the attendance, but most of all with the overall message from guests that this was one of their favorite events of the year. “One guest told me that he should have been at a black-tie gala in Dallas, Texas that night, but instead stayed in Cincinnati to come to ‘Taste.’ That means a lot to us, and speaks to the hard work of the committee to make this event so enjoyable.”

The consensus from past attendees, as always, is an overwhelming desire to attend again in 2008. Many guests are planning their fifth consecutive appearance this year, many bringing friends by the busloads. “I’ve spoken to at least three different ‘group leaders,’ who are renting a van or bus and filling it with friends and neighbors to enjoy a taste, or two, for themselves,” McCarthy shared.

Event sponsors include Vorys Legal Counsel, Oncology Hematology Care, BlueSky Creative and Queen City Printing.
