Decanting Wine Country (DWC), publisher of exclusive Wine Country publications, has expanded its portfolio with the introduction of its first Decanting Sonoma County guidebook. The book is the second for DWC, following Decanting Napa Valley, first published in January 2008. Complimentary copies of the Napa book, described as "a truly beautiful guide for visitors to the area" by famed restaurateur Thomas Keller, are available to wine enthusiasts throughout wine country and the San Francisco Bay Area.

Decanting Sonoma County is a by-invitation association of exceptional wineries, hotels and restaurants, which are promoted to wine enthusiasts and collectors through a multi-pronged marketing program. The centerpiece of the program is a beautiful Sonoma guidebook, which reads like a travelogue and offers detailed descriptions of the member properties with beautiful photographs and biographical insight. Additional marketing channels include the informative DWC website where visitors can read or email the publications, and a Winery Concierge Office, which recently opened in Yountville, CA.

"The beauty of Sonoma and its many wonderful wineries is detailed exquisitely in the Decanting Sonoma County guidebook," said winemaker Merry Edwards of Merry Edwards Winery. "We're excited to be a part of this association and look forward to welcoming wine lovers to our new winery here in Russian River Valley."

The Decanting Wine Country Association, is modeled after similar European associations focused on promoting the best available experiences and accommodations in select wine regions. "Typically, guests at Relais & Chateaux properties such as ours, seek greater amenities and exclusive experiences when they travel," said Katie Ciocca, general manager of the Michelin Three-Star Les Mars Hotel. "By joining together with the exceptional wineries and restaurants in the Decanting Sonoma County Association, we are better able to access these experiences and provide them for our guests."

DWC plans to expand to wine regions throughout California, Oregon and Washington. Upcoming publications include Decanting Monterey County in early 2009, and the second edition of Decanting Napa Valley, currently in development. Complimentary copies of Decanting Sonoma County are available through the DWC website, at each of the member locales, and at select luxury hotels and fine wine merchants throughout Northern California and the San Francisco Bay Area.
