Three golden medals for Viñedos Errázuriz S.A. at the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles Chile
Known for their excellent terroir in Marchigüe, Colchagua Valley – EOV was delighted with their first participation at the ‘Concours Mondial de Bruxelles Chile 2008’
Three of our wines received Gold Medals in the last show held last June in Valparaiso, Chile:
The Panul Oak Aged Reserve, Cabernet Sauvignon
This delicious wine has a nice concentration of red fruits, cassis and an elegant vanilla touch, aged in French Oak barriques for a period of 6 months.
The VEO Grande, Carménère
Refreshed by the ocean breeze of the Pacific Ocean, characteristic for the Marchigüe valley, our Carménère is considered one of the best in Chile.
The Marchigüe Liebre, Cabernet Sauvignon
This wine gives a perfect reflection of depth and character thanks to its deep and intense color and body. Made from our best selection of our terroirs, obtained in nocturne harvests and produced with 100 % wine aged in large French Oak barriques for 12 months.
Viñedos Errázuriz Ovalle (V.E.O.), the family-run winery with the largest area under vine in the country, owns 2,5K of its total 3K hectares in this Colchagua subregion. Originally owned by Compañia de Jesus, these estates have been in the hands of the family for over a century. Relying on deep wells, the company steered by Francisco Javier Errázuriz was not only a pioneer in this land, but changed Marchigüe’s economy for good when he turned a desert into one of the most promising winegrowing valleys in Chile.
La Esperanza, located at the very heart of the valley, has a vinification capacity of 34 million liters, yet it is the quality of its wines, particularly Carménère, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah, what has made of this winery one of the stars in wine competitions.
Marchigüe has changed. It is no longer chained to an uncertain future and to subsistence farming and livestock practices. Marchigüe is now hailed as one of the most promising valleys in Chile for production of top-quality wines.
