Majestic Wine H1 revenues up

Majestic Wine has reported revenues of GBP94.12 million for the 26 weeks ended September 29, 2008, compared to GBP91.01 million in the same period of 2007. 

Profit before tax declined by 25.5% to GBP5.6 million, compared to GBP7.5 million in the same period of 2007.

Profit for the 26 weeks ended September 29, 2008 was GBP3.91 million, compared to GBP5.09 million in the same period of 2007. For the 26 weeks ended September 29, 2008 was 6.3 pence per diluted share, compared to 7.9 pence per diluted share in the same period of 2007.

Like for like sales for the five weeks from September 30, 2008 to November 3, 2008 were down 4.7%.
