Three admit to scheme to sell stolen wine
SANTA ROSA, Calif.—Two Santa Rosa men and a Napa man have admitted their involvement in a scheme to sell high-end wine stolen from a wine company.
Just before their preliminary hearing was about to begin Wednesday, Jordan Cross, Jarrett Berg and Kevin Hall admitted to their roles in trying to sell wines stolen from a Jackson Family Wines distribution center.
Investigators say the three sold nearly 1,000 bottles of Bordeaux-style red wine costing as much as $175 each.
The 30-year-old Cross has been identified by prosecutors as the ringleader. His attorney says he agreed to plead guilty after the judge indicated he would not sentence him to state prison.
The 30-year-old Hall will be sentenced to five months in jail, while the 29-year-old Berg will serve three months in jail.
