Wine values lure investors in tough times

The trade in collectable wines in Australia is worth as much as $A80m, and has shown itself to be resilient even despite the global financial crisis. Wine auctions held by specialist firm Langton's regularly see assets valued at a combined $A1m change hands, while there is also strong demand for the "wine clinics" to freshen vintage Penfolds Grange bottles that can sell for $A45,000 each.
