When the wine arrived on a bicycle

Every year on the third Thursday of November, after sitting pretty in the town of Beaujolais, she is secretly sneaked out in jets and balloons, on elephant, bicycle and motorcycle and globe-trots across cities and oceans to be welcomed amidst loud fanfare and cheer by eager admirers.

And so on Friday night, she arrived dramatically on bicycle at the poolside lawn of this SoBo five-star hotel. Wine lovers who were till then sipping on soft-drinks rejoiced as the fruity young red wine was uncorked. A gentle breeze caressed you and the warmth of the purple-pinkish wine infused with fruity flavours sure gladdened your heart. Guests engaged in cocktail chatter as they sipped wine and nibbled on French cheese and charcuterie assortments at the party hosted by Devendra Bharma and Pieter de Man.

The merry mix of guests included couples-around-town Naaz and Remu Zaveri and Esther and Raju Daswani who quickly mingled around. Relaxing on a bench, as though they were in a park, were Chottu and Sabira Merchant.

Looking properly tanned after their holiday in Goa were Sameena and Azeem Khan, while not looking jet-lagged at all, after just arriving from Paris, was Rashmi Uday Singh. Breezing in and out was Monica Vaziralli while staying for a while were Pallavi Jaikishan and Krsna Mehta (in one of his bright shirts). Also looking colourful, as usual, were Pravina and Jamal Mecklai. All in all, a divine night with red, red wine.
