Thanksgiving in Wine Country
BENTON CITY -- Thanksgiving in Washington's Wine Country officially started today. And many wineries in the area are just as busy as retail stores around the nation.
The Terra Blanca Winery in Benton City was packed with people tasting new wines, shopping for holiday gift baskets and just enjoying each other's company.
The winery is offering discounts on many wines, and is sampling a variety of appetizers throughout the weekend.
"It's an opportunity for people to come out, taste some of the things that have released this Fall. Look at the new wines and products out. Be able to pick up some gifts and some wines for the holidays and that sort of thing" said Keith Pilgrim, Owner of Terra Blanca.
For many, visiting wineries on Black Friday is a tradition.
They say it helps them relax and get into the holiday spirit.
"The day after Thanksgiving, we get together and kinda have a chance to just get out, test some of the wines that the wineries are featuring. It just gives us an opportunity to relax and enjoy some good wine" said Mike Concienne, Grandview resident.
Terra Blanca has celebrated Thanksgiving in wine country for ten years now.
