Steady Business For Wineries
YAKIMA -- Business for Yakima valley wineries so far this holiday weekend is anything but "sideways."
Organizers of the annual "Thanksgiving in Wine Country" say ticket sales are up 40-percent from last year.
Kana Winery in downtown Yakima says customers have steadily poured in.
Some visitors tell us what they've seen at other downtown wineries.
"Their business has been good, and that this has been a really good thing, and they expect to be this afternoon and tomorrow she said it should be crazy, that was her exact words at Gilbert Cellars. People drink no matter what the economy!" say Laura Bales and Becky Spooner.
Organizers say some people who bought tickets haven't picked them up yet.
They expect business to really pick up Saturday.
Wineries in the Lower Yakima valley also describe the turnout so far as steady.
