Iran: Reduced grape harvest
“The harvest operation of Grape has been started from the vineyards of the province and it’s anticipated that considering the drought and coldness, over 180 tons of Grapes will be harvested that will have a reduction by 50 percent in comparison to that of the past year,” said the member of the chamber of commerce of the province Hamadan.
“Grape exporters have started buying and processing the commodity but the price has been doubled in comparison to that of the past year and will be between One thousand 200 and One thousand 300 Tomans a Kilogram for exporters,” said Manouchehr Rezaaei. “Over 120 thousand tons of Raisins have been shipped to the international markets and it’s expected that the current purchase operation of this commodity will be continued until the end of the month Mehr,” he mentioned.
Each year 50 thousand tons of Raisins are processed in the province Hamadan which are exported to the international markets, specially to Russia.
