New Zealand's wine industry is on-track to achieve its export target of $1 billion of exports a year by 2010.
Figures from Statistics New Zealand show over $100 million of wine was shipped across the globe in September, making it a record month in both value and volume with 10.8 million litres exported.
New Zealand Wine Growers chief executive Philip Gregan $33.3 million worth of wine was exported to Australia in September alone.
He says Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir continue to be our most popular wines and the organisation is closely monitoring export levels in the light of the global economic slowdown, but current demand in key markets remains strong.
