The 10th Chinese-Italian Wine Exhibition was held in Beijing on Nov 19th. More than 20 Italian wine manufacturers attend this exhibition and offered their wine to other participants to taste.

Giuseppina Bacile, one of the Italian manufactures, told the reporter of China Wine News that this was the forth time that he attended wine exhibition in China and hoped that he could find agent for his product. He believed there was a potential market for wine in China and hoped he could get an opportunity here.

It is reported that the annual output of wine in Italy is four million and two hundred thousand myriad in 2007, which accounts for 20% of the world general output and 30% of the European Union. The amount of export is one million and nine hundred thousand myriad, which is worth thirty four hundred million EURO. Italian wine accounts for 10% of the wine imported in China. From January to July in 2008, Italian wine exported to China was more than four thousand and six hundred myriad, which was worth eight million and six hundred thousand EURO; while at the same time in 2007, it was three thousand and five hundred myriad and seven million and two hundred thousand EURO.

As the second largest wine producer and the first wine exporter in the world, Italian wine exported to China is not that much. But with the spread of Italian wine culture in Chinese market and the efforts of Italian government and the enterprises, the sale amount of Italian wine will certainly increase.
