Grupo Codorniu introduces new Spanish wine brand in UK

Grupo Codorniu has launched a new Spanish wine brand, The Spanish Quarter, classified Vinedos de Espana, in the UK.  

The Spanish Quarter is said to be a blend of native Spanish grapes with international varietals.

The company will source grapes from its own vineyards for the preparation of Chardonnay-Albarino and Cabernet Sauvignon-Tempranillo, the two new wine blends on general release.

Just Drinks quoted Carolyn D'Aguilar, UK brand manager for The Spanish Quarter, as saying: "The UK is one of the biggest importers of Spanish wine and the Spanish category is growing in value. Sales of Spanish wines priced above GBP5 have increased 20.6% over the past year."
