From labs to bars, couple opens wine shop

Karen and Kayne Chu, both long-time employees at Fort Worth-based Alcon Laboratories, have taken their love of wine to a new level with their new shop, Grand Cru Wines & Gifts.

Grand Cru, celebrating its grand opening from Dec. 27 to Jan. 2 in southwest Fort Worth, is a full-service specialty wine boutique complete with wine and a wine bar as well as gifts.

“We are thrilled to open in time for the New Year,” Karen Chu said in a company release. “We believe that all wines should be approachable and discovering new ones should be exciting and fun.”

Grand Cru Wines & Gifts is located at 5500 Overton Ridge Blvd, Suite 222, in the City View Towne Crossing shopping center.

“Each person has their own taste preferences, and we’re here to provide our customers with a wide variety of wines to choose from,” Kayne Chu said. “We also want to encourage people to explore new wines from different countries, try new varietals and trust their own palate when deciding what they love to drink.”
