Some sparkle in your wine glass

It's not too late to find a sparkling wine worthy of toasting 2009. Under the direction of winemaker Ludovic Dervin, California-based Mumm Napa has revamped its label to reflect an elegance that, Dervin says, "pays tribute to our heritage and . . . has a contemporary, artistic look that projects the very highest quality." Find Mumm Napa at Marsh, Kroger and Crown Liquors. All prices are suggested retail.

Mumm Napa Brut Rose
Released in October, the coral-colored Brut Rose -- the first to feature the new label -- blends pinot noir and chardonnay. Grapes were hand-picked at night or in early morning to preserve flavors, resulting in a wine with rich notes of strawberries, cherries, plums and other black fruits. Serve with New Year's Eve hors d'oeuvres (pairs especially well with caviar). $24

Mumm Napa Brut Prestige
Considered one of the winery's classic creations, Brut Prestige pulls grapes from more than 50 Napa Valley vineyards and ages for an average of 18 months. It blends pinot noir, chardonnay, pinot meunier and pinot gris for a crisp, medium-bodied sparkling wine. Opening with a floral scent, it moves into flavors of vanilla, citrus, melon and stone fruit for a lingering finish. Enjoy with dinner or as a midnight marker. $20

Mumm Napa Cuvee M
Both crisp and creamy, Cuvee M also draws from more than 50 different vineyards and ages about 18 months. A blend of chardonnay, pinot noir, pinot gris and pinot meunier, the peachy-rose-hued M has an aroma of honey, vanilla, strawberry and baked goods. Hints of vanilla, peach, white chocolate and caramel combine for a long finish. Sip along with your dessert for a sweet ending to tonight's meal. $19
