A new wine shop and chef’s test kitchen has opened just down the street from its parent restaurant, Zola, called Zola Wine & Kitchen.

The outfit will occupy 1,700 square feet of space at 505 9th St. NW.

Star Restaurant Group will test its recipes for Zola and its new Italian concept planned for the Woodward Buliding at 15th and H streets NW next year, in the kitchen.

Cooking classes will be held during lunchtime as well, and the space will house other events such as cookbook parties and chef demonstrations.

The wine shop has approximately 6,000 wines for sale with an emphasis on International bottles, according to a release.
