A chance to taste and learn about wine
Enjoy a glass of wine and expand your knowledge about wine from all over the world at Wine Lover's Night every Monday and Thursday night from 5-8pm at Amuse Wine Bar.
Amuse Wine Bar, located at 1250 Kapiolani Blvd., opened in April 2007. Initially, the Wine Lover's Night program, was only meant to run for a short while, but they became a huge success and attracted a lot of people, so they just kept going, according to Tony Castillo, the bar's food and beverage manager.
The Wine Lover's Night offers a self-service wine system, where people can help themselves to a taste of 80 different wines from all the corners of the world. You buy a prepaid card and insert it in the dispenser to the wine of your choice
"Wine is served in 1-oz glasses, so people are encouraged to try a variety of different wines," Castillo said.
He also recommends the event to people who are in, or are planning to get into, the wine business, as it is a great way to taste the products and learn something about them at the same time. Knowledgeable staff is there to help you with any questions you may have, Castillo said.
Starting in January, the event will be held on Mondays and Wednesdays at the same times; 5-8 p.m. , Castillo said.
"It's a good place to learn about wine," he said.
