Winery says consumers do care about carbon neutral

Consumers do care about products being carbon neutral, according to one New Zealand winery.

Grove Mill estate has been producing carbon neutral wines since 2006.

They offset the carbon they produce by sponsoring the regeneration of native forests.

Chief winemaker David Pearce says that becoming carbon neutral has been a challenge, but it's been worth it.

"It's funny where you can find places to save energy, and every time you do save energy, you turn around and you say to yourself, 'oh, that was fantastic," he says.

"I've saved myself some money', but you also realise you should have done it anyway."
