Wine of the week: Le Coq Rouge

Le Coq Rouge is made by international playboy Sacha Lichine, descendent of the great Bordeaux producer. A blend of Syrah, Cabernet, Merlot and Grenache, this wine has a juicy, supple style loaded with black fruits, plum and a bit of spice. A great pizza and burger wine, yet compelling enough for more complex chicken or pasta dishes.

Lichine once said, "Like my father, I believe that wine should be enjoyed not idolized. I have created this blend with hedonistic enjoyment in mind. Soft fruit and a supple friendly style. A superb all rounder with piri piri chicken or penne arabiata and a generous helping of vintage Rolling Stones. I am the little red rooster too lazy to crow for days."
