2009 VOMDES Home Winemakers Competition: Call for Entries and Judges!

The 2009 VOMDES Home Winemakers Competition will take place on Monday, March 30, 2009. In its on-going quest to promote home winemaking, VOMDES encourages all home winemakers and hobbyists to participate. All wine categories as well as label design will be judged. The awards for this year's competition will be presented at the VOMDES Awards Banquet Dinner on April 9, 2009. They will also be posted on the VOMDES website as well as given on request.

WHAT:

Call for Entries: The 2009 VOMDES Home Winemakers Competition is open to all home winemakers. If you make wine at home or as a hobby, you are cordially invited to enter your wine for judging. For more information and an entry form, visit www.vomdes.com.

WHERE: Drop off your entries at The Wine Shack, 535 W. Napa St. in Sonoma. Entry forms and contest rules are available at www.vomdes.com or at The Wine Shack.

DEADLINE: Wines and entry forms must be submitted by Friday, March 29, 8:00p.m.

JUDGING: The judging will be conducted based on the UC Davis Judging System and takes place on Monday, March 30, 2009 by local winemakers and prominent individuals involved in the wine industry.

AWARDS: Best of Show, Gold, Silver, Bronze in each category. All awards will be announced at the 2009 VOMDES Awards Banquet Dinner on Thursday, April 9, 2009.
