Hazlitt wines receives positive reviews
Hazlitt 1852 Vineyards received high scores for three of its white varietal wines in this month’s Wine & Spirits and Wine Spectator magazines.
Representing its 2007 vintage, Hazlitt Homestead Reserve Riesling, Gewurztraminer and Pinot Gris all received positive reviews.
As its signature wine, Hazlitt’s Homestead Reserve Riesling scored 93 points in February’s issue of Wine & Spirits Magazine. In reviewing the wine, the publication remarked:
“From a family-owned winery overlooking Seneca Lake, this nervy Riesling has a live current running through it such that the delicate aromas — apple blossom, green herb, a hint of peach — practically burst from the glass. Driven by racy mineral acidity and the purity of its white peach fruit, it’s graceful, lifted and full flavored.”
On Wine Spectator’s Web site, www.winespectator.com, editor James Molesworth gave the Hazlitt 1852 Gewürztraminer Finger Lakes 2007 a score of 88, while the Hazlitt 1852 Pinot Gris Finger Lakes 2007 received a score of 86.
