Foggy Bridge Winery Releases Portfolio of Wines
New Urban Winery set to open in San Francisco launches wine brand
SAN FRANCISCO, Jan. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Foggy Bridge Winery -- a new urban winery to open in San Francisco--is pleased to announce the release of its first collection of California wines made under the direction of winemaker Daryl Groom. Australian-born Groom has produced award-winning wines for Penfolds in Australia, including the highly regarded Grange wine, as well as wines for Geyser Peak in Sonoma County, California.
Foggy Bridge Winery offers wines that reflect distinct growing regions, exceptional quality and great value. The wines are priced for everyday enjoyment, but their limited production and unique story also make them a perfect choice for special occasions and gifts.
The portfolio includes three distinct tiers of wine beginning with the Classic Collection. These are classic varietal wines made from renowned California growing regions and include a 2007 Sauvignon Blanc from Sonoma County ($18), a 2006 Pinot Noir from the highly acclaimed Bien Nacido Vineyard in Santa Maria Valley ($38), a 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley ($38) and a 2007 Zinfandel from Sonoma County ($26). The Tradewinds tier includes discovery wines that have "blown into the Bay" from California and beyond. Current release wines include a 2007 Riesling from Columbia Valley in Washington State ($18), a 2005 Shiraz from Alexander Valley ($22), a 2005 Bordeaux blend from the Yorkville Highlands area of Mendocino ($26) and a 2007 California Muscat ($20). Lastly the G.E.O. (Green. Earth. Origin.) tier features wines grown on Foggy Bridge's estate vineyard in the San Francisco Bay appellation. These grapes are grown using organic practices with minimal intervention, as nature intended. The 2007 Chardonnay ($18) is the first G.E.O. wine available to the public, with a limited production of only 190 cases.
The wines are available for purchase on the winery website, http://www.foggybridgewinery.com/buy/ and at select San Francisco restaurants. Ground shipping within California is included on a minimum purchase of four bottles. Foggy Bridge plans to open its urban winery location on Crissy Field in the Presidio of San Francisco in late 2009 with a tasting room, working winery and restaurant.
