Russian River Valley hosts wine weekend

If neither Santa's sack nor a succession of hostess gifts turned up just the right wine over the holidays, the Russian River Valley Wine Road's Annual Winter Wineland might be the remedy.

More than 100 Alexander, Dry Creek and Russian River Valley winemakers will visit with guests, providing samples of limited productions and new releases; some will stage food pairings or offer tours.

Check the Web site for details of each winery's program, then decide how many you can fit in. Designated drivers join the food tastings and receive nonalcoholic drinks.
