ScanControl’s GIS Mapping and Handheld Technology Expertise Extends SureHarvest’s Offerings to Growers of Any Size and Scale
SACRAMENTO, Calif. — SureHarvest announced today the acquisition of ScanControl, Inc., a leading provider of GIS integrated field data collection for vineyards. Based in Pleasanton, CA, ScanControl enables SureHarvest to extend the breadth and depth of its Farming MIS product to provide growers, large and small, with a full suite of scaleable information management tools.
“ScanControl’s expertise in GIS-based decision support and handheld technologies strengthens SureHarvest Farming MIS as a comprehensive and flexible tool for growers to plan, schedule, record, analyze, and report all farming management activities,” said Dr. Jeff Dlott, CEO, SureHarvest. “Robin Wood brings deep and complementary technical knowledge and industry experience to the SureHarvest management team.”
The ScanControl acquisition solidifies SureHarvest as the vineyard management software vendor of choice. Following the acquisition, 6 of the top 12 wineries and 22% of the premium wine producing vineyards in the United States will be using SureHarvest technologies.
“ScanControl is thrilled to partner with a company who values our customers and the strength of the CropTrak technology. With the acquisition, SureHarvest offers an unmatched set of vineyard management functionality, integration capabilities and experience in delivering activity-based cost reporting solutions,” according to Robin Wood, Founder and President of ScanControl.
“SureHarvest is a growing company because they consistently deliver robust software tools to help growers stay competitive and position themselves for the future. Whether you grow grapes, almonds, or lettuce, you are asking yourself ‘how can I improve my operation without negatively impacting the environment and my bottom line?’ Data management systems are necessary to manage costs and respond to customer demands for greater transparency,” said Patrick Gleeson of Meyer Family Enterprises, an investor in SureHarvest.
