OLYMPIA, Wash. -- State Rep. Dan Newhouse of Sunnyside has introduced a bill that would require anyone using a Washington wine label to use grapes grown in the state.
The Tri-City Herald reports that current law allows Washington wines to be made with up to 25 percent of the grapes from out of state.
Newhouse told the House Commerce Committee on Wednesday his bill would help maintain the reputation of Washington for quality wines.
