Nobile Wine TourThe Nobile di Montepulciano is one of the oldest wines in Italy. The area around Montepulciano was already famous in the Etruscan period for its wine production. In 1685 the Nobile di Montepulciano was cited by the poet Francesco Redi who, as well as praising it in his work 'Bacchus of Tuscany' (Montepulciano is of every wine King!), wrote an ode to the Count Federico Veterani entirely dedicated to the qualities of this great wine.
A sommelier hosted wine tasting might be combined with a visit to Pienza and, on the return journey, to the Castle of Montefollonico and the Benedictine Abbey of Monte Oliveto Maggiore.

To see: Montepluciano, Pienza, Montcchiello, Montefollonico, Monte Oliveto Maggiore, Asciano.
