SALINAS, Calif. - Getting a cold glass of beer or red wine is now an option at a Salinas casino.

The Banker's Casino located at 111 Monterey Street started serving beer and wine Tuesday at its 24-hour establishment after receiving approval from California Alcoholic Beverage Control.

The casino obtained the license three weeks ago, which was about six months after the establishment opened.

Owner Sal Jimenez told the Salinas Californian

that the reason for obtaining the license was to sell beer and wine at the casino's restaurant with the goal of increasing food sales.
