Sip on wines in San Pedro to save sea creatures

A wine-tasting fundraiser to support the Marine Mammal Care Center at Fort MacArthur will be held Saturday.

A wine-tasting fundraiser to support the Marine Mammal Care Center at Fort MacArthur in San Pedro will be held Saturday.

The soiree, which will benefit the center's Marine Veterinary Fund, will take place at the Corner Store, 1118 W. 37th St., San Pedro.

It will feature a selection of wines and champagne paired with a variety of gourmet cheeses and decadent chocolates.

Tasting times are 1 to 2 p.m., 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. and 4 to 5 p.m.

Early registration is recommended.
