Font:****Brain child of owner Kim Chernow-Little, this wine shop aims to make wine more approachable and engaging for all drinkers, especially those just starting their love affair with vino.
"Unlike many other wine stores in the Calgary market, our focus is on helping customers understand that wine doesn't have to be complicated. Wine can be approachable and easy to understand and just as fabulous paired with frozen lasagna as it is with prime rib--or even just on its own," says Chernow-Little.
Chernow-Little left her career in the oil and gas industry to pursue her interest in wine after studying the ins and outs of the business and visiting many vineyards and wineries.
"I felt that a unique wine boutique, focusing on the wine drinker's experience with wine, was the way to truly provide value to new wine drinkers and collectors alike," she says. "Wine shouldn't be intimidating, wine should be fun."
The big event took place at Bon-terra Trattoria on Jan. 17.
